Big Question Discussion, 'Atonement: Do We Need Forgiveness?' In September, members of the Jewish religion observe the High Holy Days, or Days of Awe, which include Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. During this holiday, Jewish people consider the ways they have wronged others throughout the year, and seek atonement for those wrongs.
