He wrote “Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action” to explore his idea of the Golden Circle\, what he calls “a naturally occurring pattern\, grounded in the biology of human decision making\, that explains why we are inspired by some people\, leaders\, messages and organizations over others.” His newest work explores “circles of safety” – how to enhance feelings of trust and confidence in making bold decisions. It’s the subject of his latest book\, “Leaders Eat Last”. Our TED Talk will be led by Kay Potetz.

DESCRIPTION:This church year\, we plan to have a “celebration Sunday” each month\, to honor and celebrate together the joys and gifts in our lives.\nThe Sunday Service Committee has exciting plans for services all year that will include a variety of celebrations. \nIn September\, we will celebrate WATER\, the vital source of life on earth. September is a traditional time for the UU ritual of water communion. There will be time for each of us to share a personal appreciation or memory of water. This celebration service will also include special music and readings\, a time for all ages\,\na visual/musical presentation of the beauty of water\, and an artistic activity for everyone.  \nIn addition\, we are acutely aware that water on earth is facing threats from many sources. As we celebrate the gift of water\, we will also briefly consider our concerns\, responsibilities\, and ways to protect this precious resource.

Bandits beware: In 1890s Montana\, would-be mail thieves didn’t stand a chance against Stagecoach Mary. The hard-drinking\, quick-shooting mail carrier sported two guns\, men’s clothing and a bad attitude. As the first African American woman to carry mail\, she stood out on the trail – and became a Wild West legend. Join us for an exciting trip into the wild west with Stagecoach Mary Fields and of course refreshments after the presentation. \nMs. Fields will be portrayed by Vernice Jackson\, one of the original members of Cleveland’s own Women in History. She holds a BA from Baldwin- Wallace University and a Master of Science from Case Western Reserve University.

DESCRIPTION:Avoid frustrating travel and long waiting lines! Join us for a pictorial visit to the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life\, history\, and culture. \nThe museum was established by an Act of Congress in 2003\, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date\, the Museum has collected more than 36\,000 artifacts. It is a place where all Americans can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience\, what it means to their lives and how it helped shape this nation. \nMs. Vernice Jackson\, a docent at the museum will guide us through this Power Point presentation. She holds a BA from Baldwin-Wallace University and a Master of Science from Case Western Reserve University. Ms. Jackson is one of the founders of Cleveland’s own Women in History and served as an adjunct faculty member at Baldwin Wallace University.
