SUMMARY:Sunday Service: The National Museum of African American History
DESCRIPTION:Avoid frustrating travel and long waiting lines! Join us for a pictorial visit to the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life\, history\, and culture. \nThe museum was established by an Act of Congress in 2003\, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date\, the Museum has collected more than 36\,000 artifacts. It is a place where all Americans can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience\, what it means to their lives and how it helped shape this nation. \nMs. Vernice Jackson\, a docent at the museum will guide us through this Power Point presentation. She holds a BA from Baldwin-Wallace University and a Master of Science from Case Western Reserve University. Ms. Jackson is one of the founders of Cleveland’s own Women in History and served as an adjunct faculty member at Baldwin Wallace University.
