SUMMARY:Sunday Service: On Being the Candle and the Mirror: Narratives for Healing and Social Justice
DESCRIPTION:Edith Wharton once said\, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflectsit.” Writing has allowed Lara Lillibridge the opportunity to be both candle and mirror. She will reflect on how writing can heal us personally and as a society\, the importance of story and how we can help elevate the voices of underrepresented people. \nLara Lillibridge\, our guest speaker\, is the talented author of three books\, Girlish: Growing Up in a Lesbian Home (Skyhorse\, April 2018); Mama\, Mama\, Only Mama (Skyhorse\, May 2019); and is co-editor of an anthology with Andrea Fekete\, entitled Feminine Rising: Voices of Power and Invisibility (Cynren Press\, April 2019).
